Jackie B. - I am currently a retired police officer and K-9 handler and formerly a senior Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff and the K-9 handler for local Sheriff's Office. I am a member of the National Narcotics Detector Dog Association and currently have several scent detection working dogs. I am the founder of the Twin Pines Training Academy for K-9's. We have an all volunteer Team which includes Giant Schnauzers, German Shepherds, Bloodhounds and Belgian Malinois. Our Team consists of Search & Rescue Dogs, Mantrailers and Narcotic Detection Dogs. Our dogs are not only working dogs, they are family members with very even temperament.

My philosophy is: Training is the key to a successful K-9-owner relationship. A trained dog makes a great family pet. A well trained working dog makes a great K-9 partner.

Here at T.P.T.A we stress training. We will assist you with any training needs that you may have with your new puppy. From housebreaking to healing on a leash. We specialize in scent detection and like to see our puppies worked in search and rescue, drug detection and family protection. We offer basic obedience classes for all of our puppies and new parents. We will also make available other agencies to provide K-9 handlers with working K-9's. We will be able to offer puppies with working ability as well as family pets and protectors. We strive for optimum stable temperament, train ability, health soundness and great looks.

You can contact us anytime for the schedule of classes . We offer puppy basic, young  adult obedience. We offer both private and group classes. Puppies are started anytime after 10 weeks of age. All positive motivation techniques are used making the training fun and enjoyable for both you and your dog.

Randi B. - I recently retired from military civil service after 30 years. I have been training and handling K-9's for 25 years. My specialties are obedience, agility, CGC, rally and K-9 behavioral therapy.

Most importantly socialize and train your puppies. The more proper socialization and training they receive as puppies will assure less behavioral problems as adults. Remember: rules, boundaries and limitations. Most of all remember to love them.

We here at T.P.T.A will do all we can to open the line of communication for our new puppy owners.

Our puppies are born in a room in the main residence where they will stay for about 4 weeks. They are then transferred to the heated and air conditioned kennels. They are handled daily to ensure proper socialization. The puppies are temperament tested, tested for work ability, vet checked and given shots and wormed before leaving for their new homes. The puppies will meet and greet adults and children and be exposed to different situations to prepare for their new environments. The puppies will be outgoing, sound, social and just a joy to have.
